The Ginsai Style is a time-consuming technique whereby 100% pure silver leaf is meticulously applied by hand onto each piece of stoneware before being placed in the kiln. This results in a stunning and smooth layer of silver, which is then enhanced by the application of the beautiful and transparent Kutani Gosai glass glaze. This intricate process requires expertise and patience, with more than four kiln firings needed to achieve its final appearance.
